What is your perception of reality? Do you believe that “everything is what it seems to be” ? If so, let’s r*ck the boat…

First of all think about your childhood. Think of stereotypes and behaviors accomplished from school and family. Blue is for boys, pink for girls. But be careful: There is a thin line between prejudice and moral principles, which separates a human being from an animal. This one has to do with another reality.

Let’s define the meaning of “word”: “In language, a word is the smallest free form that may be uttered in isolation with semantic or pragmatic content (with literal or practical meaning)” (Wikipedia). What we call “word” is a set of characters – consisting only letters – which are spoken or written and have some kind of meaning.

For example, let’s talk about the word “food”. This whole consists of four letters f + o + o + d . What do you think when I say “food” ? Do you think of an english breakfast with milks, eggs and bacon ? Or maybe a green salad with mushrooms and sauce ? Or basically a mouthful of bread ?

People from different cultures, families, ethnicities attach different meanings to the same word. If you are homeless, your mind attaches the word “food” to anything that can be eaten, even If it’s yesterday meal’s leftovers. At the other side, If you are some kind of world dominator, you may think of caviar, lobster and a glass of special wine. What we have here is two different realities, which do not exist elsewhere other than inside our brains.

Of course the words “fork”, “spoon”, “chair” could mean the same thing, If the majority of people living in a close society have attached this meaning to that specific word.

We are all dummies being manipulated from the time we were born. Religious affairs, sexual behaviors, fashion styles, learning patterns and vocational guidance. A significant amount of people I have met in my life, follow the profession of one of their parents. I am almost a member of this entity.

The truth is that most of those people, having mimic personalities, were manipulated from their family environments to proceed to their direction with or without their guidance. I have seen this happen in families where extremely tight bonds exist between the parent and the child. It seems to me like Truman show: a reality was formed for us to follow before the very moment we were born with some people watching over us. The difference here is that our family’s incentives are love, compassion and a little of overprotection, in addition to the directors of the Truman show whose ones were money.

I compare the directors of Truman show to those who move the puppet strings in everyday life. The media is the strongest medium for spreading stereotypes. Don’t wonder “whose medium is it” because If you already didn’t know the answer, I dare you to find it. Stereotypes are addictive like smoke and alcohol, maybe worse. You can stop smoking, but altering your perception of reality is quite difficult, though not impossible.

Approval of stereotypes will offer you – first of all – security. You think you know what you want, what profession you should follow and what kind of women you adore. You think you love the way everyone around you perceives entertainment. Everything or everyone that follows the known stereotype – in your environment (might be your neighborhood, your town, country, nation or whatever) – feels safe and comfortable. Everything else, feels the opposite. If you join a funeral dressed in red or green, you will feel uncomfortable and being isolated by people. If you live in a family where your parents had been violent to each other or sadly you are a victim of domestic violence it’s almost sure that you will grow up with a despise to the other sex.

Suppose that you are born in a country where its residents have no respect to each other, violate a huge majority of laws as a trend, harm their health as a part of a disgusting lifestyle/entertainment and seemingness is the only thing that matters. Everything that does not accomplish to those rules, will slowly isolate you from the rest, make you feel and seem retarded or retrograde.

The example that explains most of the theory is this of the flock of the sheep.

If you want to taste a punch in the face of what the REAL reality seems like, then do something that you’ll feel uncomfortable. Do this as an exercice. Being a sheep outside of the flock, will make you vulnerable to every kind of attack, but you will meet freedom and as a result, inner peace.

So what is your choice ? Comfort and safety in a prison, or freedom and peace of mind?

Nice article to read : “Are we all stereotypes?”

Once upon a time, this blog was used to be a self-improvement blog. This is true.

Well, I have spent several hours in setting up the domain, the hosting account, update WordPress, think, think, think, correct, post and all over again. Some people told me I could get some money by writing interesting self-improvement posts. Affiliate marketing, SEO, adwords brain-crush sessions and lots of hope. But this attempt failed.

I was getting very low amounts of visitors. Who should care? “You are the best, do that, everything will be ok”. Bullsh*t.

So here I am again. And this time, I swear I won’t try to be over-optimist. F*ck money. Someone told me If you don’t hunt for them, they should come with ease. And f*ck self-improvement also. Who set the improve or decline measurement?

My friends, no more inspiration lies, no more organization whirlwinds, no more “get better” stuff. Truly, I have never believed them.

Do you really wanna taste a pungent sense of reality?
